Toby is one of our special boys who will require some extra patience and understanding. As he came into the shelter as a stray, his past is unknown but we can guess that he experienced much trauma and little love in his life. We KNOW that this boy wants to be a good canine citizen, and he will achieve that goal with the right family.
He will do best in a home with adults who have experience with timid dogs. He's learning to be more tolerant but can still be reactive. Tails of Gray will sponsor continued training with his current trainer. He would enjoy having another dog or cat in the home who can help show him the way.
Toby is 13 lbs and we think he's around 12 years old.
He really, really deserves the chance to be in a forever home with a family who can learn to recognize his needs, wants, fears, likes, dislikes, etc. and who is willing to give him a chance. We know that the return will be golden, as Toby is a very loyal boy and he has a whole lot of love within him.

After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.

If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.

After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!
