Sweetheart Posey is an 8 year old Maltese/Lhasa Apso mix who was surrendered to the shelter in poor condition. He is on the mend and is learning all about the good life!

He is good with other small dogs and may be okay with larger ones but hasn't really been around them yet.

Posey is pretty low key. He’s content to nap on a dog bed near you, or cuddle on the couch. He sleeps in an open crate at night in an enclosed space. While he’s mostly potty trained, he hasn’t learned to ask to go out, so you have to watch his cues. He’s not into toys, but has a favorite chew bone. He will require regular grooming, though he's not a fan of baths.

Posey will thrive in an experienced (adult) home where he is surrounded by patience and understanding and lots and lots of love. His favorite thing in the whole wide world is his foster momma. He seems a bit slower to trust men but is slowly coming around.
He can be a very sweet boy, but has some anxiety (barking and pacing) when new people or situations present themselves.

His foster parents have welcomed him into their home with open arms and, with their help, he is on the right path toward being a good canine citizen. Our little man will need continued structure and guidance as he learns to trust that the world around him is good for him, at long last.

After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.

If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.

After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!
