Cali is a friendly and affectionate senior Boxer mix who is hoping to find her new forever family. Originally rescued from a NC shelter, she lived with her human mom and children for 10 years. It was devastating to all involved when it was recently determined that she had to be rehomed due to an insurmountable health issue within the family.
She gets along with other dogs and cats and is very gentle and tolerant with even small children.
We think she is about 11 years old and she weighs 50 lbs. She’s house trained and is an amazingly healthy, energetic dog whose only real issue is that she needs to drink out of a special bowl so she doesn’t inhale the water.
Cali is a great hiker and has wonderful manners when off-leash on trails where that is permitted.
This is a wonderful all-around good girl here. She patiently awaits her new forever family!

APPLY TO ADOPT
Interested in adopting one of our senior dogs?
It's easy! First, make note of the dog's name and then move on to the online adoption application.
After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.
If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.
After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!
