BEAN (AKA APPLE)
STATUS: ADOPTED
Chihuahua
(Will be) Spayed female
Age: 8 years old
Size: Small
Special Needs: No
Apple has been adopted and is now known as "Bean". While she is doing better she has been through quite a medical struggle these past few weeks. Overall, the diagnosis is that she has Congestive Heart Failure/Heart Disease. Her mom and dad have been with her at the emergency vet, regular vet, and have consulted a cardiologist. She is on several medications to help manage her heart/seizures and she’s been responding well. The vet care that she’s required has been incredibly costly for Kathryn and Brian (her mom and dad) and we are trying to relieve at least some of the financial burden with a Bean-specific fundraiser. Bean is an incredibly lucky girl to have the parents she has, they’ve really gone above and beyond for the little nugget. Our "long-termers", Cynthia included, have pulled themselves together to paint a few masterpieces and all funds raised will go toward Bean's medical care.
**********
Sweet little Apple came into the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. We can't imagine this little girl out on her own, having to fend for herself. She is safe now, though, and nicely settling in to her foster home.
Apple loves people and other dogs (we don't know yet about cats).
She is 5 lbs and we think that she's 8-10 years old.
Apple is brand new to us and we'll update her bio and photos soon!!
APPLY TO ADOPT
Interested in adopting one of our senior dogs?
It's easy! First, make note of the dog's name and then move on to the online adoption application.
After your application is approved, we will coordinate a time for a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.
If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.
After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!
